Thank you for your interest in our automotive research study.
Sift Research is an independent, third-party research organization commissioned by a major automotive manufacturer to collect consumer insight data. Automotive manufacturers regularly conduct research with vehicle owners to help guide future vehicle development. Your opinions represent the voices of thousands of other owners, so your opinions are valuable and will be used to help build the next generation of vehicles.
We have four opportunities available in Dallas from August 7 to 12. We have a 2-hour in-person survey, a 2 1/2-hour in-person Focus Group Discussion with your car, a 2-hour in-person Focus Group Discussion without your car, and a 2 1/2-hour Home Visit Interview. Details about each activity are described below.
Focus Group With Your Car
The Focus Groups will consist of 2-3 other owners like yourself and the discussion will be led by one of our professional moderators. We will discuss a variety of automotive topics like vehicle usage, driving habits, future vehicle needs, likes/dislikes of your current vehicle, etc. Part of the group will be conducted around your vehicle, in the parking lot of the research location, where we will discuss in detail yours, and other participants’ vehicles. These Focus Groups will be held on Aug. 7 and 8, and the discussions will last about 2 1/2-hours each.
Focus Group Without Your Car
These Focus Groups will consist of 3-4 other owners like yourself and the discussion topics will be similar to the focus groups mentioned above, but we will not have a discussion around your vehicle. We will still discuss your vehicle in detail, but the entirety of the group will be conducted inside a boardroom at the research location. These Focus Groups will be held on Aug. 10-12, and the discussions will last about 2-hours each.
In-person Survey
The survey topics will be similar to the Focus Group, but no talking required. The entirety of the in-person research study consists of an approximately 2-hour survey. In the survey, you will provide feedback about your current vehicle and your future vehicle needs so that we understand more about you, your driving habits, and what you look for in a vehicle. You will also evaluate several vehicle concepts and features, telling us what you like and dislike about each. The survey will be conducted on a laptop computer with a group of about 10-15 others. The group will proceed through the survey at the same pace, as one of our staff members displays the vehicle concepts and features on a large TV screen. We have sessions available for the survey between Aug. 9-12.
Home Visit Interview
The Home Visit Interview will be what we call in the research world an Ethnography. Ethnographies allow us to view consumers in their natural habitat - sort of like a human safari. We obtain feedback by watching consumers use products or services how they normally would in their daily lives to not only understand how they use and/or shop for products, but also to learn more about their personalities and motivations.
This ethnography would mostly take place inside your home, and may include a short ride along to a spot of your choice - place of work, shopping center, outdoor activity spot, or any other spot you visit frequently.
We are conducting these Home Visits Aug. 7-10, and the discussion will last about 2 1/2-hours each. The entirety of the discussion would be audio and video recorded for our own internal reporting purposes. The audio/video would not be released outside of the research companies conducting the research, and the automotive manufacturer that is sponsoring the research.
We first need to confirm you match the profile of our target consumer, so we ask that you complete a short qualifying survey. The survey should take 10-20 minutes to complete, and if you match our profile and qualify to participate, we will follow up via phone to provide further details.
Please click the ‘Start Survey’ button below to see if you qualify for participation.
Please note the following:
There is no compensation for completing this online, qualifying survey; this is only to determine if you are eligible for the four research activities described above. Not all will qualify so we thank you in advance for your time.
Payment for all research activities will be made in the form of a digital gift card, which will be sent to you via email once you finish. The gift card is redeemable at hundreds of different vendors (Amazon, Target, etc.), or it can be redeemed as a Visa and used anywhere Visa is accepted (you can request a physical Visa card be sent to you in the mail or you can use it as a digital Visa card).
